We showed up for a night at this charming inn, but the innkeeper told us that we had booked a room for the preceding Tuesday. She even told us that she had called and left a message about it, but we saw the number in her book, the cell phone we had with us on vacation! She never called.

And there was no mistake on our end about the date, as we wrote it down after the phone call, not to mention the fact that it was a Saturday and not a Tuesday! She then proceeded to guilt my girlfriend into paying for 'half' of the fee we owed, despite the fact that it was clearly her mistake.

Looking at some other reviews of this place, it is clear that the owner overbooks frequently, and I advise you to choose one of the many other nice B&Bs in Portsmouth.
